The kind of yoga DVD you choose to use will likely depend on how experienced you are with yoga. You would likely watch different DVDs as an experienced yogi than you would if you were a brand new yoga practitioner.

There are some yoga DVDs that are made to be part of a series. They cover the whole spectrum of yoga skills. They often start with the most basic of yoga practices and move along to the most advanced postures. These are helpful DVDs for those who are interested in long-term practice. These DVDs are basically able to be used as a step-by-step guide from one skill to the next.

These DVDs also allow you to progress in a way you feel most comfortable. If there are some poses you are having trouble with on one of the DVDs, simply keep practicing for as long as you want until you feel comfortable enough to move along to the next disc.

The kind of yoga DVD you choose will also depend on if you are looking for variety or consistency. Some DVDs focus on just one type of yoga. Others will include selections of many different types.

If you are interested in focusing on one type of yoga, but are unsure of which one, perhaps it would be best to buy a DVD that lets you explore all the different options that are out there. This DVD will be most effective if it includes selections from the more stationary types of yoga as well as those types that include more of an aerobic workout. When you come to a decision, you can purchase a yoga DVD that focuses solely on the type of yoga you choose to perform.
